Terms of Service

Welcome to Earful Narration Studio, a service provided by Earful Studio (”Earful”, “Earful Studio”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). Earful Studio is operated by Laura Greaves, trading as Earful Studio. When you use the Service you are contracting with Laura Greaves trading as Earful Studio. These Terms of Service (”Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, software, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Earful Narration Studio

Earful Narration Studio is a software platform designed to help audiobook narrators organise their productions. Features may include manuscript management, character profiles, pronunciation guides, notes, highlighting, and production workflow tools.

Earful Narration Studio is a productivity tool. It does not generate audiobook narration or replace human performance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your country to use the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with any agreements you have with authors, publishers, rights holders, or clients.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for:

  • keeping your login credentials secure;
  • maintaining accurate account information;
  • all activity that occurs under your account.

You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Your Content

“Your Content” includes anything you upload, create, or store within Earful Narration Studio, including but not limited to:

  • manuscripts;
  • character profiles;
  • pronunciation guides;
  • notes;
  • production information;
  • project files;
  • uploaded documents;
  • custom data.

You retain full ownership of Your Content.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Your Content to Earful Narration Studio.

5. Licence to Operate the Service

You grant Earful Narration Studio a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, back up, display, and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service.

This licence ends when Your Content is permanently deleted from our systems, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate backup and security purposes.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service itself—including its software, interface, branding, design, logos, graphics, and original content—is owned by Earful Studio and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • copy or redistribute the software;
  • reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by law;
  • remove copyright notices;
  • create derivative versions of the software;
  • use our branding without written permission.

7. No Claim Over Your Intellectual Property

We do not claim ownership of:

  • your manuscripts;
  • your narration notes;
  • your character voices or performance choices;
  • your pronunciations;
  • your production methods;
  • your client work.

All creative decisions and intellectual property you upload remain yours or belong to the relevant rights holder.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • upload content you do not have permission to use;
  • infringe another person’s copyright;
  • upload malicious software;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service;
  • interfere with other users;
  • use the Service for unlawful purposes.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. AI Statement

Earful Narration Studio is designed to support professional human narrators.

Although AI-assisted software development tools were used during the creation of the platform, the Service itself does not provide AI-generated narration or generative AI features for users. Earful Narration Studio is intended to assist organisation and workflow rather than replace human performance.

10. Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

We may:

  • perform maintenance;
  • introduce new features;
  • modify existing functionality;
  • temporarily suspend access for maintenance or security reasons.

11. Subscription and Payments

Certain features require a paid Professional subscription. Prices, billing intervals (monthly or yearly), renewal terms and trial periods are displayed before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the next billing date. Prices are shown inclusive of any applicable taxes where required.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

12. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied, you can request a full refund within 30 days of your order date. Refunds are processed by Paddle — request one at paddle.net or by emailing hello@earfulpublishing.com. See our Refund Policy at https://earfulstudio.com/refunds for details.

13. Beta Features

We may occasionally offer beta features.

Beta features:

  • may change or be removed;
  • may contain bugs;
  • are provided “as is”;
  • may not receive the same level of support as general release features.

14. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Earful Studio shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Earful Studio during the twelve months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be excluded.

16. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis.

While we strive for accuracy and reliability, we do not guarantee that the Service will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

Users remain responsible for backing up important work.

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access where:

  • these Terms are breached;
  • unlawful activity is suspected;
  • continued access would create legal or security risks.

You may stop using the Service at any time.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Where changes are significant, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or by email.

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales unless applicable consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
