Narrators are trusted with unpublished books. Earful is built so that trust is never in question: everything in your workspace is private to your account, and to the people you choose to share a link or file with.

Your work is yours.
You keep every right in the manuscripts, notes, character profiles, pronunciations and recordings you put into Earful. Uploading something gives Earful no ownership of it and no licence to use it for anything beyond running your workspace for you.
Private by default.
Everything you add is stored against your account only. No other narrator, client or visitor can see, list, open or search it.
Never used to train AI.
Your manuscripts and workspace content are never used to train, fine-tune or improve any AI model — ours or anyone else's.
Never sold or shared for marketing.
We do not sell, rent or trade your content or your email address, and we do not hand it to advertisers or data brokers.
You decide who else sees it.
Content leaves your workspace only when you choose to send it — for example a file you export and pass on. Anyone you give that link, code or file to can see what it contains, so share it only with people you trust.
Earful treats every manuscript and unpublished work you upload as your confidential information, and the confidential information of the author or publisher you are working for. We use it for one purpose only: to provide the studio features you asked for inside your own workspace.
We will not disclose it to any third party except the limited service providers described below, or where we are legally compelled to do so.
Manuscript files, extracted text, character profiles, pronunciation entries, voice clips, notes and recordings are stored in your own account area and protected by access rules that permit only your signed-in account to read or change them. Files are held privately and are reachable only through short-lived links generated for you while you are signed in.
Earful has no AI features. When you look up a word, only that single word is sent to a free public dictionary to fetch its pronunciation. No passages of your manuscript are ever sent.
If you would rather no text ever left the workspace, simply don't look words up — every other part of Earful works without it.
Earful relies on a small number of providers to run: hosting and database infrastructure, the public dictionary described above, an email service for account and notification messages, and a payment provider for subscriptions. Each acts on our instructions only, and none is permitted to use your content for its own purposes.
Some features let you deliberately share part of your workspace — for example an export file or an invite code. Those are intended to be shared, and anyone holding one can see what it grants access to. You can deactivate a review link at any time from the book it belongs to.
Access to your workspace as a whole is controlled by your sign-in details. Keep them to yourself: anyone who signs in as you can see everything you can.
Earful is run by a working audiobook narrator, and we do not browse customer workspaces. Administrative access exists only to keep the service running, to fix a fault or to meet a legal obligation, and is used only where necessary — in the case of a fault, with your knowledge wherever possible.
You can delete any manuscript, book, character, pronunciation or recording from inside the studio at any time, and the stored file goes with it. Ask us to close your account and we will remove your workspace content within 30 days, apart from anything we must keep for accounting or legal reasons.
Beyond your workspace content we hold only what is needed to run an account: your email address, your display name, your plan and subscription status, and basic technical logs used to keep the service secure and working.
You may ask us for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted.
