- Does Earful work offline?
- Earful runs in your browser and keeps everything in your account, so it follows you between devices — which means you need a connection to open a book or save a change. Your original manuscript can be downloaded and kept on your machine for booth days with no signal.
- Can I import existing projects?
- Yes. Bring in a manuscript as a Word, PDF, text or EPUB file and it opens exactly as written, ready to read. You add the characters, places and words you want to remember as you go. Existing pronunciation lists can be pasted in too.
- Will it support multiple book series?
- Series are built in. Each book carries a series name and the year you first narrated it, and characters can be carried across from an earlier book with their guide, notes and voice clips intact.
- Can I export my data?
- Yes. Pronunciation sheets and character sheets export as PDF, and your words and characters export as CSV or JSON. Your work is yours to take with you.
- Can I get in now?
- Yes — Earful is open now. Create your account from the home page and start with a free trial: 7 days on the monthly plan or 14 days on the yearly plan. You can bring in a manuscript and start recording straight away.
- Can I use Earful on an iPad in the recording booth?
- Yes. Earful runs in the browser, so it works on an iPad or tablet in the booth with no mouse clicks or fan noise, and on your computer on prep days.
- Does Earful use AI or train models on my manuscript?
- No. Earful was developed using AI-assisted coding tools, but the software itself doesn't use any generative AI or AI-powered features. It is a manual workspace: no AI is used anywhere in the app, and your manuscripts stay private to your account — never shared, never used for training. Even importing notes from a spreadsheet, PDF or Word file runs on fixed rules, not AI: Earful reads the headings and column names in your file and places each entry in the matching part of your Narrator's Guide. You see every entry in a preview and untick anything you don't want before it's saved — nothing is guessed and nothing is generated.
